Delivery and safety

From first discussion through to handover

Five steps, handled directly by SESA from the first call through to handover. The process is deliberately simple because there is no chain of people between the person you speak to and the person who installs the system.

Project delivery

The delivery process

Initial project discussion

We speak with you directly to understand the job before anything is quoted.

  • The structure or asset
  • The reason containment is required
  • Site location
  • Project timing
  • Weather exposure
  • The work being completed inside the enclosure
  • Hazardous material considerations
  • Existing scaffold or support structure
  • Access requirements
  • Site restrictions
  • Required duration

Site and scope assessment

Where practical, the work area is reviewed in person so the scope reflects the actual site rather than a drawing.

  • Access
  • Structure dimensions
  • Scaffold condition and layout
  • Environmental exposure
  • Interface points
  • Work sequencing
  • Required openings
  • Potential hazards
  • Site specific constraints

Containment planning

The approach is determined against the project objective and the conditions the system has to survive.

  • Project objective
  • Film specification
  • Expected exposure
  • Required containment level
  • Scaffold or structural interface
  • Access points
  • Work duration
  • Installation sequence
  • Client requirements
This is practical containment planning, not certified structural engineering. Where wind loading, structural capacity or engineering certification is required, it must be provided by the scaffold designer, principal contractor, engineer or another suitably qualified party.

Installation

We install, tension, seal and finish the shrink wrap system in coordination with you and the relevant site personnel, working to the agreed sequence and the site's access and permit requirements.

Inspection and handover

The completed system is checked before the work area is handed over.

  • Seams
  • Joins
  • Tension
  • Openings
  • Access points
  • General finish
  • Visible damage
  • Readiness for the following work activities
Ongoing maintenance, inspection responsibilities and damage management requirements are agreed for each project. Enclosures on live sites take knocks, and it is better to settle who does what about it before the work starts.
Safety and site compliance

Working to the site's systems, not around them

Containment work happens at height, around scaffold, alongside other trades and often on live sites. The approach below is how SESA operates on site.

  • Site specific risk assessment
  • Site specific SWMS where required
  • Coordination with principal contractor systems
  • Compliance with site induction requirements
  • Controlled work areas
  • Safe access considerations
  • Working at heights awareness
  • Coordination around scaffold and mobile plant
  • Clean and orderly handover
  • Environmental responsibility
  • Following project specific procedures
  • Reporting damage, changes or unsafe conditions
  • Clear communication with site management
Documentation

Prequalification and compliance documentation

$20mPublic liability insurance
ABN 81 688 632 635Specialised Encapsulation Services Australia Pty Ltd
100% Indigenous ownedSupply Nation registered
On requestCertificates, licences and SWMS

SESA carries $20 million public liability insurance. A certificate of currency, along with current licences, competencies and safety documentation, is provided directly to clients and prequalification systems on request, so that what you receive is current at the time of engagement rather than whatever a website happened to say.

If your project requires specific tickets, inductions, prequalification portal registration or insurance levels, raise them at the enquiry stage and you will get a straight answer on what is currently held.

Note. SESA does not publish licence numbers or ticket expiry dates on this website. Those change, and publishing figures that later expire is how contractors end up making claims they cannot support. Current documentation is supplied on request.
Scope

What sits inside and outside SESA's scope

SESA provides Provided by others on the project
Shrink wrap containment and encapsulation systems Scaffold design, supply and erection
Temporary weather protection enclosures Structural and wind loading engineering certification
Containment for blasting, coating and remediation works The blasting, coating, lead removal, asbestos removal and remediation works themselves
Asset, plant and equipment protection wrapping Environmental testing, occupational hygiene and clearance inspections
Formation of access points and project specific work zones Ventilation, extraction and environmental monitoring systems
Inspection of the installed containment at handover Ongoing site security, permits and access control
Why this table exists. Containment scope disputes usually start with an assumption about who was covering what. Setting the boundary out in writing before the job starts is cheaper for everyone.

Start with the site assessment

Send through the structure, the location, the work happening inside the enclosure and your required start date. Photographs and plans help.
